Overview | TISSNET 2022 Exam

Tata Institute of Social Sciences commonly known as TISS is located in Mumbai and three other campuses. For admission into their Master’s Program (MA) a National entrance exam named TISSNET is conducted every year which is a computer-based test. This year, TISSNET 2022 exam is scheduled to be held on 26^th Feb 2022. It is important to note that TISS does not offer MBA program. The MA programmes of TISS are the most sought-after Master’s Degree course that is at par with the MBA programmes of top B-Schools of the country.

TISSNET 2022 Exam Key Features

Computer Based Test: TISSNET is an online exam that is a computer-based test for admission to its Master’s program offered at 4 Campuses that are Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati, and Hyderabad.

Difficulty Level: In terms of difficulty, the TISSNET exam is considered to be an easy to moderate level exam. If you have prepared honestly for MBA Entrance Exams like CAT, XAT, or IIFT, then TISSNET can be an easy exam for you.

Number of Sections: The TISSNET Exam has 3 sections that are:

• English Proficiency
• Maths & Logical Reasoning
• General Knowledge

Main Differentiator: The General Knowledge section is considered as a main differentiator for TISSNET exam as a majority of questions are asked in this section. To get shortlisted, this section needs to be prepared well.

Negative Marking: No negative marking for incorrect answers in the TISSNET 2022 Exam.

A candidate can apply for a maximum of three M.A programmes. The main 2 programmes are MA (HR) and MA (ODCL).

There is no specific change in the TISSNET 2022 Exam Pattern:

TISSNET 2022 Exam Major Changes

As compared to TISSNET Previous Year Exams, here are the major changes in TISSNET 2022 Exam & TISSMAT 2022 Exam:

• Shortlisting of candidates is based on the score of the TISSNET for Online Assessment (OL) round which is the PI round for final selection.
• After Shortlisting for the Online Assessment round, it is mandatory to appear in TISSMAT for MA (HRM) and M.A. (ODCL) programmes and in TISSPAT for other MA Programmes.

Note: Earlier TISSMAT was conducted immediately after TISSNET, but from the year 2022, the TISSMAT exam is now the part of PI round.

TISSMAT Time duration- 45 mins. Earlier, the time duration was 30 mins.

• The TISSMAT is a Common Test only for MA (HRM) and MA (ODCL) programmes and need not be taken separately for each of the two programmes.
• Personal Interview for TISS admission 2022 will be Online
• Weightage for TISSNET 2022 exam has been reduced and for TISSMAT 2022 exam, the weightage has been increased as compared to TISS previous year exams.
• Final Admission for the MA programmes in TISS is based on the performance in TISSNET Exam, TISSMAT Exam and Online Assessment Test (Personal Interview)

TISSMAT 2022 Exam Pattern

The Pre-Interview Exam for the TISS Exam was replaced with TISSMAT/TISSPAT exam. The detailed exam pattern is discussed below. The TISS Management Aptitude Exam abbreviated as TISSMAT will be conducted after the shortlisting of candidates on the basis of their performance in the TISSNET 2022 Exam. Previously, the TISSMAT exam was conducted just after the TISSNET exam which has now been changed.
