SIMSREE Mumbai: Admission, Cut-off, Fees, Eligibility, etc.

Under the auspices of the University of Mumbai, the Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Research and Entrepreneurship Education (SIMSREE) is one of the leading management schools in India. In 1913, it was named for Lord Sydenham of Combe, the Bombay governor at the time. He played a pioneering role in the expansion of commerce-oriented vocational education in India. As a result, Sydenham College rose to prominence as the oldest college in business to issue degrees. The SIMSREE was founded in 1983. The college’s first honorary principal was K.S. Aiyar. The subject was first offered by other institutions in 1941, which was twenty-eight years after Sydenham College was founded.

The Courses offered at SIMSREE include:

  • 2 year full time MMS courses
  • 3 year part time courses which include MFM (Masters in financial Management) and MMM (Masters in Marketing Management)
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

The MMS course is affiliated to University of Mumbai, course is AICTE approved.

  • The student has to appear for MAH-CET conducted by DTE or any exam equivalent to MAH-CET (CAT and CMAT)
  • Apply to Admission process of DTE  ( follow announcements at  https://www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in )
  • DTE will conduct Document verification at ARCs
  • On the basis of Percentile of Normalized score of entrance exams, seat allocation will be done by DTE on merit in CAP rounds

Candidates who reside in Maharashtra and belong to the Reserved Categories, or who appear in a test deemed equivalent to it, and have completed at least 50% of their coursework overall (45%), will be eligible to take the Common Entrance Test. Students in their last year may also apply for admission.

Note: In this context, “aggregate marks” refers to the candidate’s overall grade point average (GPA) across all disciplines, which is used to determine the candidate’s class at the university where admission is being sought.

The applicants are narrowed down based on their entrance exam normalised score percentile.
The shortlisted applicants will receive an invitation to the CAP round, where they will participate in the seat assignment procedure
