Offering financial programmes, the University of Delhi’s Department of Financial Studies (DFS) is a department. With its origins in the Delhi School of Economics, the DFS was established in 1987 as a finance-focused division of the university’s Department of Commerce. The university’s South Campus is home to the DFS. TIME (the Triumphant Institute of Management Education) awarded DFS an AA rating, placing it among India’s top 30 business schools.
Prominent figures in Indian finance policy, such as C. B. Bhave, Kamalesh Chandra Chakrabarty, and M. Damodaran, have held advisory board positions for the Master of Finance and Control programme. Some of the most well-known experts in financial management education, including Professors M. Y. Khan and I. M. Pandey, have served as the department’s previous deans.

Graduate (less than 10+2+3) in any field, with a minimum of 50% from the University of Delhi, or from another university deemed comparable, and a minimum of a class XII math/business math grade. Seats reserved in accordance with university regulations.
Applicants may also apply if they plan to enroll in the last year of their bachelor’s degree in 2022.

DFS DU: Admission Process
A two-year full-time MBA programme in financial management is offered by the Department of Financial Studies (DFS) in Delhi. Applications for the MBA (Finance) programme are open to those with a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 50% overall. The MBA programme offers admission to candidates who meet the requirements and receive a valid score on the CAT Entrance Exam. The CAT entrance exam scores was given 60 weight out of a possible 100 during the final selection process. Female candidates were also given an additional 2.5 percentile concession. Final selection is based on CAT scores, GD and PI scores, class X and class XII exam scores, and weighting given to female candidates.
Shortlisting for GD and PI:
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on their CAT percentile.
- Candidates with the following degrees are given more weight: B. Com. (Hons.); B. A./B.Sc. (Hons.) (Economics); B. A. (Hons.) (Business Economics); BBS/BMS; and BFIA/BBA(FIA).
- Candidates that are female are given a little more weight.
DFS DU Final Selection:
- The Common Admission Test is used by DFS to admit students to its full-time, two-year programme. Group discussions (GD) and individual interviews (PI) are then conducted.
- Final selection is made using the following criteria: weighting to female candidates; CAT scores; marks from GD and PI; and marks from Class X and Class XII examinations.
- Additional weight is given to candidates who hold a B. Com (Hons. ), B. A. (Hons.) (Economics), B. A. (Hons.) (Business Economics), BBE, BBS/BMS, or BFIA/BBA (FIA).
