IIM Sambalpur

Sambalpur, Odisha, India is home to the Indian Institute of Management Sambalpur, also referred to as IIM Sambalpur or just IIM. It is a public business school. August 2015 saw the establishment of IIM Sambalpur, one of the Indian Institutes of Management. The Post-Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management, Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP), PhD and Executive PhD Programme in Management are its four primary course offerings.

It was founded in August 2015 and is one of the new Indian Institutes of Management. In September 2015, the first class of students began their studies. IIM Sambalpur’s permanent campus is located at Basantpur, close to Gosala Sambalpur (Odisha), Pin – 768025.

Eligibility Conditions

  • The ideal candidate would have a bachelor’s degree in any field, or a comparable degree with at least 50% of the possible points.
  • Possessed a bachelor’s degree and, as of the application deadline, at least three (3) years of full-time managerial or professional experience.
  • Open to people of all nationalities is the programme.
  • According to Government of India regulations, seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PWD/EWS applicants.

Selection Process

Self-Financed Candidates

Candidates that are self-funded and meet the aforementioned minimal qualifying requirements will be invited to participate in the PI process. The number of candidates to be invited for PI will be determined by the Admission Committee in collaboration with the Competent Authority. In order to pursue the MBA for working professionals at IIM Sambalpur – Delhi Centre, candidates must present a “No Objection Certificate” or “Consent letter” from their company.

Industry Sponsored Candidates

The IIM Sambalpur-Delhi Centre’s MBA programme for working professionals accepts sponsored participants. At the time of admission, a sponsored candidate had to have worked for the sponsoring organisation for a minimum of two years. The primary method of selecting candidates for this category will be in-person interviews. The sponsoring company will need to submit a letter to the candidates. The rules and regulations that apply to students admitted under the regular category must be followed by any candidate chosen under this category.

Statement of Purpose (SOP)

Applicants must submit a 2000 word or less Statement of Purpose (SOP). The SOP ought to cover the candidate’s professional background, areas of interest, accomplishments, aspirations, and motivation for pursuing an MBA for working professionals.

Personal Interview (PI)

The candidates who make the short list will face the selection panel in person for an interview. The candidates’ appropriateness will be evaluated by the selection panel on the basis of their managerial skill and entrepreneurial spirit.

Getting The Merit List Ready

The candidate’s Statement of Purpose (SOP), academic qualifications, diversity, and personal interview will all be taken into consideration when creating the Final Merit List for programme acceptance. A 60 percent weighting will be assigned to the personal interview. A weight of ten percent will be assigned to each of the candidate’s profile’s components, which include diversity and past academic performance. A candidate’s submitted Statement of Purpose (SOP) and Career Objectives will be given a 20 percent weighting.
