The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) has introduced its inaugural undergraduate program—the Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) (Honours with Research). Commencing in the 2025–26 academic year, this four-year, full-time residential program will be delivered at IIMK’s Kochi Campus. The BMS program aims to cultivate responsible, globally minded, and innovation-driven leaders equipped to excel across various sectors of industry and commerce. ​

Program Overview

Program Name: Bachelor of Management Studies (Honours with Research)

Duration: 4 years (8 semesters)

Campus: IIM Kozhikode’s Kochi Campus

Mode: Full-time residential

Academic Calendar:

  • Fall Semester: September to December

  • Spring Semester: January to April

  • Summer Term: May to August (for internships, projects, or additional courses)

  • Curriculum Structure: Foundation courses, core management courses, electives, and a research dissertation in the final year.

 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have successfully completed the Class XII examination or hold a diploma after ten years of schooling from any stream recognized by the relevant boards of the Government of India.

Candidates must be able to produce original mark sheets/certificates on or before 1st August 2025 to be eligible for admission.

Admission Process

1. Application Submission:

  • Interested candidates can apply online through the official IIM Kozhikode website.

  • Application Window: 22 April 2025 to 22 May 2025. ​

2. Entrance Test:

IIMK BMS Aptitude Test (IIMK BMS AT):

  • A computer-based test assessing Verbal Ability and Quantitative Ability.

  • Test Date: 22 June 2025.

Exemptions:

  • Candidates with valid JEE (Main), SAT, or ACT scores are exempted from the IIMK BMS AT.

  • Such candidates will be shortlisted based on their standardized test scores.

Shortlisting for Personal Interview:

  • An Aggregate Index Score (AIS) is computed based on:

  • Performance in the entrance test (or accepted equivalent).

  • Academic performance in Class XII/Diploma or equivalent.

  • Marks obtained in Class X.

  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a Personal Interview (PI) to assess:

  • Academic efforts and disposition.

  • General awareness and social disposition.

  • Attitude, personality, and communication skills.

  • Overall fit for the program.

Interviews will be conducted in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Mumbai, and New Delhi. 

Final Selection:

  • Based on a composite score of entrance test performance, academic records, and PI evaluation. ​

Foundation Courses: Subjects include Economics, Quantitative Methods, English, Accounting, Computer Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Law. ​

Core Courses (Major in Management Studies): Students will complete 80 credits (20-24 courses) in areas such as:

Elective Courses (Minors): Students must choose at least one minor area, completing 40 credits (10-12 courses). Available minors include:

International Exposure: Foreign Exchange Program
