The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu was established in 2016 by the Government of India as a public autonomous institution. For the 2026-28 batch, IIM Jammu uses CAT 2025 scores as the primary filter for the initial shortlisting stage. Candidates are shortlisted based on meeting both sectional and overall percentile thresholds determined by the institute.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants for the MBA program must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. A relaxation of 5% is provided to candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories. Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply provisionally.

Selection Stages

The admission process follows a three-stage structure:

  1. Shortlisting: Based on CAT 2025 performance relative to category-wise cut-offs.
  2. Personal Interview (PI): Conducted through the Common Admission Process (CAP) coordinated for 2026 by IIM Udaipur.
  3. Final Merit List: Prepared using a composite score that integrates the CAT score, PI performance, and the candidate’s comprehensive profile.

Selection Criteria / Admission Policy Structure

IIM Jammu has revised its selection criteria for the 2026-28 session, notably reducing the CAT weightage to 42%.

CAT Score Weightage

The CAT score carries a 42% weightage in the final merit list preparation. This score is based on the absolute CAT 2025 percentile.

Academic Profile (10th, 12th, Graduation)

The academic profile contributes a maximum of 10 marks out of the total composite score.

  • 10th Standard: 2 marks.
  • 12th Standard: 3 marks.
  • Graduation: 5 marks.
Work Experience

Work experience is assigned a maximum of 10 marks, evaluated based on the duration of experience in months.

  • Less than 12 months: 0 marks.
  • 24.01 to 36 months: 10 marks (Maximum).
  • More than 60 months: 0 marks.
Diversity Factors

To encourage inclusive cohorts, gender diversity is awarded a maximum of 8 marks.
