IPMAT 2024 Exam Preparation Strategy
The focal point or the highlight of the preparation plan should always be the “basics”. The essentials are necessary for the foundation of anything. They are the building blocks of any concept or idea. If you are thorough and clear with your basics or concepts then you can solve any type of question. They are permanently embedded in your mind and you do not need any type of shortcuts to solve the problems. Two important steps for the preparation are:
- Learning the fundamentals- Learn the basics or concepts of any subject matter which will help in forming the foundation.
- Taking the Mocks– Take mocks regularly and analyze them. They help you with practical application of the concepts and enable you to solve different types of questions.
IPMAT 2024 Exam Section-Wise Preparation Strategy
The IPMAT exam consists of three sections. Their preparation strategies are as follows:
VARC Preparation Strategy
To ace this section, the foremost important thing to do is to develop a reading habit. It should become your most important priority. The candidate should develop a habit of reading for at least half an hour every day. Do not do a speedy reading. Take your time and read and comprehend things simultaneously. This way you will eventually read faster and understand the matter better. Try and read different types of genres and do not stick to one domain. This will help increase your knowledge over a number of subject matters.
But reading alone is not enough. There are a number of other questions that you have to deal with in the exam like sentence correction, para jumbles, odd one out, etc. These questions require a lot of practice to understand their tips and tricks.
Quantitative Ability Preparation Strategy
The candidates should start with Arithmetic for the preparation of this section. Arithmetic forms the base or the backbone of the Quantitative portion and it can help solve other types of questions too. Arithmetic includes topics like percentages, profit and loss, speed, distance and time, simple and compound interest, etc.
Geometry follows Arithmetic. It is another important segment of the Quantitative section. Like Arithmetic, it also forms the basis of many types of questions. Geometry should also be practiced thoroughly again and again after understanding its fundamentals to score a lot of questions.
After Geometry comes Algebra. Algebra consists of topics like inequalities, functions, logs etc.
Topics like Number system, Permutation & Combination are of lesser importance.
IPMAT Indore is a bit tougher as it also includes questions relating to Matrices, Determinants, and Data Interpretation. So, additional preparation is required for it.
IPMAT Rohtak includes easier questions and consists more of questions relating to topics like probability, permutation & combination etc.
Logical Reasoning Preparation Strategy
This section is evaluated only in IPMAT Rohtak. It consists of simple and easy questions which are not very difficult to score. The preliminary requirement is of course the learning of the basics and lots of practice.
The candidates should ensure to go through the previous year’s question papers and lots of mock tests as the difficulty level changes as per the exam. Take mocks religiously and analyze them to understand your strong and weak areas and handle them accordingly. Read the questions carefully and understand the data or information given and then answer accordingly.
