In Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh, there is an independent public business school called the Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur (often known as IIM Sirmaur or IIM S). Among the twenty Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), the institute was founded by the Indian government in 2015. In 2017, the Indian government designated it as an Institute of National Importance.

Location: Dhaula Kuan, Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh (Permanent campus, operational since July 2024). The BMS program operates from the temporary campus in Paonta Sahib.

The total fees are divided term-wise, with the first year (2026-27) costing approximately ₹10,35,000 and the second year (2027-28) costing ₹9,65,000.

Admission Stages (MBA 2026-2028 Batch)

  • CAT exam requirement: Admission requires a valid CAT 2026 score.
  • Shortlisting criteria: Candidates are shortlisted based on sectional and overall CAT cut-offs for the Personal Interview (PI) round, typically through the Common Admission Procedure (CAP 2026).
  • WAT/PI process: The selection process includes a Personal Interview (PI) conducted offline as part of CAP.
  • Final selection: The final merit list is based on a Composite Score with the following weightages for the 2027-2029 batch:
    • Scaled CAT Score: 35%
    • Personal Interview (PI) Score: 20%
    • Academic Performance: 15%
    • Work Experience: 20%
    • Gender Diversity: 5% (for female/transgender candidates)
    • Trailblazer Score (Bonus): 5%

Academic Requirements
  • Graduation percentage: A Bachelor’s degree (minimum three years) with at least 60% marks for General category and 55% for Reserved categories is required.
  • Ineligibility Note: Candidates with less than 60% in their 10th, 12th, and graduation are ineligible for the PI round.
  • Stream flexibility: The admission policy includes a Trailblazer score which grants bonus points to candidates from diverse academic backgrounds (e.g., B. Des, B. Arch, B. Pharm, CA/CS/CMA).

The permanent campus at Dhaula Kuan has been operational since July 2024 and features state-of-the-art infrastructure.
