Admission to the flagship MBA program is based on the Common Admission Test (CAT).

Shortlisting Criteria

The admission process is carried out in three stages:

  1. Stage 1 (Screening): Candidates must clear the minimum CAT cut-offs set by IIM Nagpur. The sectional cut-offs for CAT are 65/65/65.
  2. Stage 2 (Shortlist): Candidates who clear the cut-offs and apply are shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI) based on their Shortlisting Score (SS), which factors in CAT performance, Past Academic Performance (PAP), Work Experience (WE), and Gender Diversity (GDI).
Final Selection

The final selection is based on a Final Score (FS) calculation, with the following weightage components:

  • CAT Score: 45%
  • Personal Interview (PI) Score: 25%
  • Past Academic Performance (PAP): 6% (based on 10th, 12th, and UG scores)
  • Work Experience (WE): 9%
  • Academic Diversity: 5%
  • Gender Diversity (GDI): 10%

The minimum sectional CAT percentile cut-offs for General category candidates to be considered for IIM Nagpur’s MBA program are 70/70/70 (for VARC, DILR, and QA sections).
