The 3 stages of the IIM Nagpur admission process for the MBA course have been explained below.

Stage 1:

After taking the CAT exam, candidates will go through an initial screening process based on the Institute’s established CAT cut-off scores. Those who successfully clear the IIM Nagpur CAT cut-off will receive an email inviting them to fill out the IIM Nagpur application.

Applicants will advance to Stage 2 of the admissions process if they meet the required CAT cut off and submit their IIM Nagpur application by the deadline.

Stage 2:

The Gender Diversity Index (GDI) score and the CAT score will be used to evaluate candidates.

  • Gender Diversity Score (GDI) will be determined out of 10 based on the gender of the candidate (0 for male, 10 for female, and 10 for transgender candidates).
  •  CAT Score (CAT) will be calculated as = (Total CAT score acquired by the candidate/Maximum total CAT score+) * 10.

Finally, a shortlisting score (SS) is calculated on the basis of candidates CAT and GDI scores:

Shortlisting Score (SS) = 0.85 * (CAT Score) + 0.15 * (GDI Score)

Applicants will be emailed an invitation to participate in Stage 3 of the admissions process if their score is equal to or greater than the SS.

Stage 3:

Invitations for a face-to-face interview at the IIM Nagpur campus will be sent to candidates who made the Stage 2 cut. Upon completion of these interviews, candidates will be selected in accordance with their final score.

he Final Score (FS) will be computed on the basis of the candidate’s:

  • CAT score
  • PI score
  • Past academic performance (PAP) score
  • Work experience (WE) score
  • Gender Diversity (GDI) score

The Final score (FS) is computed using the following formula:

FS = 0.50* (CAT Score) + 0.25* (PI Score) + 0.05 * (PAP Score) + 0.10 * (WE Score) + 0.10* (GDI Score)
