IIM Bangalore: Eligibility Criteria

  • For admission to IIM Bangalore, the candidate must take the CAT 2023 exam and receive the minimum required sectional and overall score.

  • The equivalency to establish PGP entrance eligibility would be based on the equivalency confirmed by the institution/university from where the bachelor’s degree is received, if the candidate is awarded grades or CGPA rather than marks. If the university or institution does not have a plan in place to convert the CGPA into equivalent marks, IIM Bangalore will determine the equivalency by dividing the obtained CGPA by the highest CGPA that can be achieved, then multiplying the resulting number by 100 to verify the candidate’s eligibility for admission.
  • Applicants for IIMB Admission 2024 may also include individuals who have fulfilled the degree requirements and are awaiting results, as well as those who are taking the final year bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification exam. A certificate certifying that the candidate is in their final year or is awaiting final results and has received at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% in the case of the candidate belonging to the SC/ST/PwD category) based on the most recent grades or marks available must be produced by the principal, head of the department, registrar, or director of the institution or university.
  • The IIM Bangalore eligibility criterion goes on to clarify that, should such a candidate be chosen, they will lose their eligibility for admission unless they present a certificate, issued on or before June 30, 2024, from the principal, head of department, registrar, or director of the institution or university, attesting to their completion of all requirements (the outcome may still be pending) for obtaining a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
  • If a final-year student is given admission to IIM Bangalore and is deemed provisionally eligible, they must turn in their mark sheet and degree certificate from the final-year bachelor’s degree exam by June 30, 2024, at the latest. December 31, 2024 is the deadline for submitting the certificate and mark sheet.
