All About IIFT 2022 Admission: Important Dates, Selection Criteria

The IIFT exam is a management aptitude test for admission into the two-year MBA course provided by the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) at Delhi, Kolkata, and Kakinada campuses. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the exam every year for the MBA aspirants. The exam is viewed as important as CAT by the candidates.
Approximately 60K+ candidates take the IIFT exam each year. The exam is even considered tougher than CAT. So the candidates need to work hard for this exam as well and have a good strategy to crack it.

What is the Exam Date of IIFT 2022?

The IIFT exam is held in December each year. However, in the year 2020, the exam was delayed and held in January 2021 due to the COVID – 19 pandemic. The admit cards are released two weeks prior to the final exam.

As per the official notification released on the IIFT website, IIFT 2022 Exam is scheduled to be conducted on 5th December 2021.

Who can give IIFT?

The eligibility criteria for admission into IIFT is that a candidate should have a bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years’ duration from a recognized university in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks. There is no age limit for appearing in this examination.

What is the admission process?

The process of admission into IIFT includes a written test followed by a round of essay writing/GD/PI. A merit list is prepared based on the results of the written test, according to which, the qualifying candidates are called for the round of essay writing/ GD/PI.

The admission to IIFT MBA (IB)- Full Time in addition to IIFT’s Written Examination scores, Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) scores incorporates Academic Consistency, Academic Diversity, Gender Diversity and Work Experience. The process will be carried out in two stages as follows:

What are the courses offered at IIFT?

IIFT 2022 Cut-Offs (Expected)

The IIFT cut-offs are different for all three IIFT campuses. The result is announced around the month of February after which the cut-offs are also analyzed. the candidates passing the sectional and overall cut–off marks will qualify for the second round of admission. The expected cut-offs for 2022 admission based on previous years’ cut-offs are as follows:
• Verbal Ability: 33 – 36
• Quantitative Analysis: 10 – 12
• Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning: 10 – 20
• General Awareness: 6 – 7
Overall: 125 – 130

Information regarding IIFT 2022 Exam Pattern

The exam is held in online mode and the time duration is for 2 hours. There is no sectional time limit.
The number of sections are:
• Section 1: Quantitative Ability (QA) – 25 questions
• Section 2: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) – 35 questions
• Section 3: Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation (LRDI) – 30 questions
• Section 4: General Knowledge (G.K.) – 20 questions
The total number of questions is not fixed. In 2020, the number of questions was 110, in 2019, it was 114 and in 2018, it was 123.
The MCQ-based question paper carries 3 marks for each correct answer in Sections 1, 2, and 3, and in Section 4, each correct answer carries 1.5 marks. There is a negative marking of 1/3 marks.
