MDI Gurgaon: Admission, Fees, Cut-off, Eligibility, etc.

Private business school Management Development Institute (MDI) is located in India. It was founded by the Industrial Finance Corporation of India in 1973 and is situated in Gurgaon, a commercial center close to New Delhi, the capital of India. In Gurgaon, MDI has a 37-acre (150,000 m2) facility of its own. The Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi is approximately 12 kilo metres away from the campus. The MDI campus features trees and buildings made of red brick. Names like Gurukul, Takshila, Lakshaya, Scholars, Renaissance, Parthenon, and so on have been assigned to the buildings.

In 2020, MDI was ranked third in India by Outlook India’s Top 150 Private MBA Institutions and tenth among management schools in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).

  • Three specialisations are available for two-year full-time PGDM programmes at MDI Gurgaon.
  • Merit in the CAT exam, which is followed by the GD and PI rounds, determines admission to the MDI Gurgaon PGDM programme.
  • Admission to MDI Gurgaon requires the appearance of foreign nationals, non-resident Indians, and PIOs in the GMAT exam.
  • At MDI Gurgaon, there are three Executive PG programmes offered.
    Admission to the Management Development Programmes (MDPs) is available at MDI Gurgaon under four specialisations.

MDI Gurgaon offers its flagship courses, PGDM, PGDM-HRM, PGSM-BA, and PGDM-IB, in three rounds of admission. The processes listed below must be followed by the applicant in order to apply to MDI Gurgaon for their desired flagship course.

Stage 1- Eligibility Check and Application

  • At least 50% in both the tenth and twelfth grades, or an equivalent CGPA.
  • A bachelor’s degree with at least 50% of the possible points (minimum 3 years for PGDM, PGDM-BA, and PGDM-HRM; minimum 4 years for PGDM-IB).
  • Candidates may also apply to the PGDM, PGDM-BA, and PGDM-HRM programmes if they plan to sit for the bachelor’s degree final exam.
  • The candidates must turn in their diplomas by October 31, 2024, at the latest.
  • Candidates for the PGDM-IB programme need to have at least a year of professional experience.

Stage 2- Shortlisting

Those who meet the program’s eligibility requirements and have a valid CAT score will be shortlisted for the GD-PI round at MDI Gurgaon. The shortlisted candidates are required to visit the MDI Gurgaon website and indicate which PGPM, PGP-IB, and PGP-HRM programmes they choose. Once completed, preferences cannot be altered at a later time.

Stage 3- Final Selection

The final admission letters will be sent to the chosen candidates in April 2024, provided the applicant is eligible for the GD-PI round, which takes place between February and April of that year. A wide range of criteria are taken into consideration while making the final decision, including academic standing, extracurricular and co-curricular accomplishments, work experience, CAT and GD-PI performance, and academic success.
