About the Programme
The two-year full-time residential Master of Business Administration (Tourism Management) program offers a comprehensive curriculum structured into three trimesters per academic year, ultimately leading to an MBA in tourism management upon completion. The first year focuses on foundational courses that delve into management theories and practical applications across various functional domains. Following the coursework, students undertake a mandatory six- to eight-week summer internship, engaging in tourism-related projects to gain hands-on experience and apply their learning in real-world scenarios. This structured approach ensures that students not only grasp theoretical concepts but also develop crucial industry skills essential for thriving in the dynamic field of tourism management.
During the second year of the program, students have the opportunity to tailor their education to their specific interests through a diverse range of core and elective courses tailored to various sectors of the industry. They have the flexibility to select elective courses based on their career aspirations, provided they fulfill the program’s minimum credit requirements. Upon fulfilling all academic requirements, including core courses, electives, and any additional criteria, students earn their MBA in Tourism Management, symbolizing their comprehensive preparation and specialization in this dynamic field. Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3 pattern)/B. Tech in any discipline from a recognized University / Institute or equivalent thereto with at least 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ST/PH).
- Score on any one of the following tests –
- Valid CAT Score/GMAT (last 5 years)
Or
- The results of the IIM Sirmaur Admission Test, which is administered to qualified applicants on a pre-arranged day. Based on their legitimate CAT, GMAT, or IIM Sirmaur Test scores, if applicable, candidates will be shortlisted.
- Those who have been shortlisted will be invited to a personal interview or interaction at a prearranged time and place. The following cities serve as IIM Sirmaur Test centres: Paonta Sahib H.P. (Himachal Pradesh), Kolkata, Bangalore, Delhi, Chandigarh, and Chandigarh.
- The Institute, however, has the right to add or remove any centre for the Entrance Test. The ultimate merit list/selection under any category/quota will be announced precisely in order of inter-se merit based on the composite score calculated utilising weightages according to genuine CAT 2020/GMAT (last 5 years)/IIM Sirmaur 2021 Test score (if conducted), PI score, academic profile, and job history.

Government of India reservation policy for admission to Central Educational Institutions (CEIs) will be followed.

Programme Fees
- The Programme fee for the 2023-25 Batch is Rs. 16 lakhs.
- For international students, fee would be USD equivalent of Rs. 16 lakhs.
Offer Acceptance fee, withdrawal and refund
Upon obtaining an admission offer from IIM Sirmaur, a candidate must accept the offer within the designated timeframe and deposit a sum of Rs. 50,000/-through an online transaction to secure their spot in the programme. At the time of registration, the amount so deposited will be adjusted in the term fee. However, the processing fee alone will be subtracted from the sum if the candidate wishes to withdraw the offer later on within the Institute’s designated window of time. Should you decide to withdraw from the programme after registering, there will be no reimbursement.
