A special programme called PGPEX-VLM addresses the industry’s increasing need for techno-managerial leaders who will help to shape the neo-industrial revolution. These innovators, equipped with the newest managerial techniques and state-of-the-art technological know-how, are ready to take on the difficulties posed by the new generation of information-driven businesses aiming for the “Triple Bottom line.”
This year-long, full-time residential programme has an integrated manufacturing focus that facilitates understanding the evolution of a sector in times of competition. The course is being jointly offered by IIM Calcutta, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Madras, three of India’s top universities. These institutions collaborated with business, the Ministry of Education, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and the Government of India to design the course.
Distinctive Features of the Program
i) A full-time, year-long residential programme
ii) An integrated programme offering management education specialisations from each partner institute: Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC), Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK), and Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM).
iii) Every student needs to be a graduate of engineering
iv) Academic records, professional experience, performance on the aptitude test, and in-person interviews with three institute faculty members will all be taken into consideration throughout the selection process.
v) 36 weeks of classroom instruction consisting of guest lectures by corporate executives, industry experts, and Japanese teachers, as well as case studies, tutorials, lab sessions, films, individual and group assignments, and 1173 interaction hours.
vi) Under the sponsorship of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), a week-long industry tour to Japan was conducted to investigate Best Manufacturing Practices.
vii) The curriculum strikes the right mix of theoretical knowledge and hands-on training to foster a high level of leadership ability that will allow Indian businesses to turn manufacturing into a weapon of mass destruction.
viii) In addition to ISO9001 Lead Auditor Training, the programme offers courses on Artificial Intelligence, Industry 4.0, Green Manufacturing, Entrepreneurship, and the Internet of Things (IOT).
ix) Promising engineers with the potential for senior management roles are drawn to the programme from the manufacturing and related industries.In addition to fostering an understanding and competency in cutting edge technology, the programme seeks to cultivate leadership and management abilities.

Program Fees
The present program fees is Rs. 13,50,000/- (Rupees thirteen lakhs fifty thousand only).
Rs 40,000/- is to be paid as a caution deposit payable at Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. This amount will be refunded on completion of the programme after necessary adjustments of dues if any.
