Founded in 1981, the International Management Institute (IMI) is the first corporately supported business school in India, with its main campus located in New Delhi. The principal sponsor, RPG Enterprises, was joined by ITC, Nestle, Tata Chemicals, British Oxygen, SAIL, and Williamson Magor as corporate sponsors. It was established in cooperation with IMD Lausanne, presently known as IMI Geneva. Two more campuses were later established in Bhubaneswar (2011) and Kolkata (2010). IMI New Delhi has routinely been listed in the top 5 private business schools and among the top 10–15 business schools in the nation for the past few years. One of the top three worldwide accreditation organizations for business schools, the Association of MBAs (AMBA), with its headquarters in the UK, has granted it certification.

IMI Delhi: Admission Process (PGDM)
IMI New Delhi’s main curriculum is the two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). It is intended to educate students for employment in a variety of functional areas in the industry. Students who complete the program will have the strong conceptual skills necessary to manage businesses holistically. The curriculum creates adaptable managers with the ability to handle duties in many business areas. The focus is on creating a manager who is holistic and has the vision to approach future difficulties in a socially conscious way. Additionally, the program has NBA accreditation and is equivalent to the Association of Indian Universities’ MBA program (AIU).

Admission Exam
CAT, or Common Admission Test
The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad will administer the Common Admission Test (CAT) – 2023 at various locations across the nation in order to admit students to the program.
The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT)-2024,
XAT is administered by XLRI Jamshedpur in collaboration with XAMI (Xavier Association of Management Institutes), is another requirement for admission to the program. XAT is used to identify the best candidates for management education at every level in India.
Graduate Management Admission Test GMAT
Based on their GMAT results, candidates with foreign nationality are also eligible, as long as they took the exam between January 2019 and January 2024.
When applying, candidates must submit their GMAT results, and at the in-person interview, they must give the Admission Office a self-attested copy of their GMAT score sheet for validation.
Using an Online Application
The online application form must be filled out and submitted by the applicant, together with the non-refundable application fee and any other necessary paperwork. If an applicant wants to apply to any of the two-year programs offered by IMI New Delhi, IMI Kolkata, or IMI Bhubaneswar, the application processing fees are Rs. 2000/- + GST @18%.
The application form is available at https://admission.imi.edu and must be submitted online. Incomplete forms are liable to be rejected summarily.
Selection Process
The shortlisting of applicants for online admission to PGDM, PGDM (HRM), and/or PGDM (B&FS) will be determined by
- GMAT or CAT/XAT results
- Academic History
Only those who have been shortlisted will be contacted for the individual assessment phase of the hiring process.
Procedure (Writing an Essay, Interviewing Someone, etc.). The Individual Assessment Process is tentatively scheduled for January/February of 2024.
The main elements of the selection process include prior academic performance, individual assessment results, and other qualitative factors like the caliber of job experience and extracurricular activities. The IMI New Delhi Admissions Committee retains the authority to change these elements and to notify applicants of such modifications during the Individual Assessment phase.
Centers for Interviews
In addition to Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune will also host selection sessions. On the application form, candidates should list their first and second preferred interview location. The candidate will be notified of the change if, for whatever reason, their preferred center is not assigned.
IMI New Delhi retains the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute any center for another throughout the selection process.
Admission Offer:
The composite score obtained during the assessment will determine the admission offer different phases of the previously described selection procedure. An Admission will be used to announce the outcome and will receive notifications via the IMI New Delhi website. It is recommended that applicants frequently check the website for updates.
